Stop Analyze Identify Distract
I created Victoria S.A.I.D. to help my clients identify triggers that cause them to OVER eat, EMOTIONALLY eat or to MINDLESSLY eat, causing weight gain, and all around negative feelings and disappointment.
My concept is pretty simple…….Stop and think before you put the food in your mouth…or even unwrap it. Analyze the situation, is it time to eat? are you truly hungry? If not, Identify what were you doing/thinking that brought you to the feelings that you want or “need” to eat? Was there just conflict with a boss, spouse or peer? Was there difficulty with making a decision? A stressful moment or a feeling of being out of control? Then Distract yourself…leave the kitchen, get up from the desk and walk to get water, stand up and stretch, chew a piece of gum, the distraction that works for you will be unique to you, and something that may take some time to find a successful one.
All of my clients are busy people,I have really never met someone who says they are NOT busy or has PLENTY of time in the day to eat well and exercise. I hope to help you get past some of the hurdles that you place in front of yourself and to give you realistic tips to support you.
This technique has grown over the years into helping people with more than just mindful eating. Have you found yourself saying negative things about yourself, either out loud or silently? Have you put limitations on your ability to be successful in whatever you used to dream possible?
Why is that? Stop and think….. what ( or who) have I let influence my view of myself? Analyze, why have I given that power over my own drive and view of myself? Go back and identify when that first started, what changed? Detour your thinking, take some time to remember what it felt like to believe in yourself, your abilities and your dreams!
The first step is to remember what Victoria SAID!…..
